About our farm
Nestled in the lush hills of Wolvi, Queensland, Davcarol Retreat is dedicated to breeding quality high-percentage Nigerian Dwarf goats and easy-care Dorper sheep for breeders, hobby farms, and families.
How our journey began
What started as a simple wish for natural weed management and paddock grazers quickly turned into a genuine passion. When our starter herd arrived—led by our registered buck Wicket, doe Sundae, and their twin bucklings—we completely fell in love with their playful character and gentle nature. Seeing the incredible genetic potential of these animals inspired us to focus seriously on breeding high-percentage, DNA-tested Nigerian Dwarf goats alongside low-maintenance Dorper sheep.
Quality genetics and natural grazers
We place strong value on verified pedigrees, regularly testing our herd's DNA and introducing papered Nigerian Dwarf does with proven lineage to strengthen our lines. For property maintenance, our Dorper sheep offer the ideal natural lawnmower. Because Dorpers naturally shed their fleece, owners enjoy productive pasture control without the chore and expense of annual shearing.
Thoughtful daily care and handling
Every day, our stock roams freely across dedicated pastures secured with electric mesh fencing. Fed daily and handled with patience, our goats and sheep grow up calm, social, and trusting. Whenever a newborn kid needs extra support, we step in with bottle-feeding, resulting in exceptionally friendly animals that make delightful outdoor pets for acreage properties.
"Visiting Davcarol Retreat in Wolvi gave us complete confidence in the care and quality behind their breeding. Our goats arrived healthy, calm, and ready to thrive."
